Kia Goes Mobile During L.A. Show
This should be something worth noting for those who are following the fast and furious development of the QR Code technology. Kia's American arm, Kia Motors America (KMA), in November, launched into an industry that they're not previously known for…mobile phone and QR Code technology. Together with David & Goliath and Usablenet, they've launched Kia Soul Mobile. The name of the mobile phone does not seem like much of a surprise since it capitalizes on the country of origin for Kia which is South Korea with its heart in Seoul. This new product campaign was recently launched late November 2008 so, it's still fresh out of the oven.
Kia Motors Corporation is a Seoul-based motor company offering a long line of vehicles with more than six-hundred-and-forty dealers throughout the country. Kia cars are, generally speaking, of good quality and their designs are always a little revolutionary than others. David&Goliath is, on the other hand an independent yet award-winning creative agency that has been holding hands with many big names like Universal Orlando Resort, Bacardi and many New York hotels and casinos. Usablenet is a mobile web platform that ties provides marketing and commerce services to companies.
Together, they form a formidable team for the recent QR Code-based activities. What they're offering you now is the chance to use Kia Soul Mobile to access an incredibly amount of information, images, videos and whathaveyounots. Of course, by scanning the QR Codes, you'll also get access to the latest KMA information during the show. The highlight is in unveiling some selected designs from ten artists which was inspired by Kia Soul Mobile's unique design. By scanning the QR Code, mobile phone users can get updates from the microsite, inform friends and also download the artwork and share it with friends.
The QR Codes were printed on specially-designed postcards which can be easily scanned with a mobile phone. The L.A. show is merely a start and judging from its success, there will be definitely be more to come. Kia customers, with the QR Codes can now connect and provide feedback directly to the people that matters behind Kia. Of course, this translates into better branding and marketing as well.
